U.S. Citizen Services

The American Citizen Services (ACS) section of the Consular Section provides information and assistance to U.S. citizens in The Gambia. American Citizens Services consists of Special Consular Services, Passport Services, and Federal Benefits. Please see the relevant section for further information.

Hours of Operation 

Registration and Inquiries:

From 8:00 a.m. To 5:30 p.m - Mondays to Thursdays and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Fridays.

Passport, Notarial and Special Consular Services:

Services requiring a Consular Officer's assistance are available on weekdays (Mondays to Thursdays) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. 

NOTE:  Hours may need to change due to the availability of the Consular Officer.  The ACS Section is closed to the public on American and Gambian public holidays .

Emergency Contact Information

In the case of a life or death emergency involving a United States citizen call the ACS office during working hours.

A Duty Officer is available during non-working hours at +220-696-2710 for emergencies.
